SARF SP005: Assessment of the viability of Neoparamoeba perurans following exposure to hydrogen peroxide

1)     Measure viability of P. perurans following in vitro exposures of in-house amoeba culture to hydrogen peroxide at a range of temperatures and salinities. Examine the effects of organic loading on hydrogen peroxide.

2)     Expose experimentally-infected fish to treatment, with hydrogen peroxide or with freshwater, at various timepoints following infection and record gill score, P. perurans loading  and gill pathology at a fixed point post-treatment.

3)     Collate relevant data from literature and other sources.

Combine collected and experimentally-derived data into draft guidance, with input from industry and health professionals during a targeted workshop or other open discussion forum.
