SARFSP010: Piloting a network for determining spatial and temporal variation in marine survival of Atlantic salmon and effects of anti-sea lice agents

Objectives

1) Trap 1000-2000 salmon smolts in each of the Lundy and Loy burns during 2015 and 2016; weigh, measure and PIT tag all fish, treat half of the sample (balanced by all variables) with Substance EX during April 2015 and 2016.

2) Trap 1000-2000 salmon smolts in the River Blackwater (on the Conon system) during 2015 and 2016; weigh, measure and PIT tag all fish, treat half of the sample (balanced by all variables) with Substance EX during April 2015 and 2016

3) Construct adult traps in the Lundy and Loy burns by July 2016

4) Fish the Lochy and Conon traps during September-December 2016 and 2017; weigh and measure fish.

5) Database, analyse and write-up data as annual reports, final reports and scientific papers (where appropriate).
